House of the Dragon Cast Switchover This Weekend
A Song of Ice and Fire fans have known from the beginning of House of the Dragon that an actor swap was immanent in the role of the young women, Rhaenyra Targaryen (currently played by Milly Alcock), and Alicent Hightower (currently played by Emily Carey), and being aged up in this weekend’s episode as a new poster from the Official Twitter Account revealed earlier this week:

Emma D’Arcy (Hanna) will take on the role of Princess Rhaenyra, and Olivia Cooke (Bates Motel), steps into the role of Queen Alicent to echo the multiple time jumps George R.R. Martin’s Fire and Blood book utilizes in its telling of the events of the Dance of the Dragons.
If I may share my bias, a couple weeks ago we release a Geek History Lesson episode titled House of the Dragon where I break down all the important details about the events upon which the House of the Dragon television show is built.
With House of the Dragon averaging 29 million viewers over the five episodes which have aired to date.
