Dark Horse is pleased to announce the promotion of Cara O’Neil to Senior Director of Marketing.
O’Neil joined Dark Horse in 2017, focusing on social media management for the company. Since that time, she has grown Dark Horse’s overall social media presence, developed and implemented successful social strategies and campaigns, and expanded Dark Horse’s live streaming channels and programming. Additionally, she has managed digital advertising, promotional efforts, and communications strategy for some of Dark Horse’s most popular titles including Berserk, The Witcher, Critical Role, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Umbrella Academy, Stranger Things, Hellboy, and many more. In her new role, O’Neil will be leading the Dark Horse Marketing team overall as they continue to grow and adapt to changing marketing/publicity and publishing landscapes.
“Cara O’Neil has been a vital part of the Dark Horse team since the day she was hired in social media. In her tenure with the company, she’s proven to be a team leader, an incredible strategist, and someone who is constantly looking to push Dark Horse into continued growth and creative excellence,” said Mike Richardson, the CEO and Founder of Dark Horse Comics. “I am thrilled to have her accept this leadership role for our Marketing team, and am excited for where her sensibilities will take us.”
A graduate of Portland State University’s Masters in Publishing program, specializing in marketing and publicity, Cara also combines many years of book retail and library experience with management of marketing, publicity, and communications for publishing houses, non-profits, creative agencies, and in higher education.
“Dark Horse has many exciting projects both happening now and coming soon, and I continue to enjoy being part of the team bringing these projects into the world,” O’Neil said. “I appreciate being given the trust and opportunity to lead, grow, and shape our Marketing team and outreach efforts, and am excited for what we can accomplish together in the days ahead.”
Please join us in congratulating Cara O’Neil as she begins her new role at Dark Horse.
