Zenescope Entertainment raises over $10,000 for indie comic shops

Press ReleaseBy Press ReleaseMay 26, 20212 Mins Read

    PRESS RELEASE

In March 2021, Zenescope Entertainment began working with comic book retailers across the country by utilizing the company’s fast-growing livestream events.  This year, so far, Zenescope has raised and donated over $10,000 cumulatively through its “Retailer Livestreams” to continue their initiative of giving back to the comic book community.

Zenescope features a new store on every stream and donates 50% of all sales to that livestream’s featured comic shop. All products ship directly from the Zenescope warehouse, so there’s zero cost or risk to participating retailers.

“Many tears were shed at the opening of that envelope with the especially generous check in it. It was absolutely needed, as we just had 2 computers die,” said Jennifer King of Space Cadets about their involvement on a recent stream. “You know me, Zenescope for life!”

Zenescope also recently partnered with Binc (Book Industry Charitable Foundation) for their “Survive to Thrive” campaign, to help reach their goal of $2 million in donations.

Joe Brusha, President of Zenescope, stated that “Survive to Thrive has raised over $1 million in just the past six weeks and we wanted to be a part of that. We’re dedicated to helping however we can so comic shops and indie bookstores can begin to flourish again as Covid restrictions ease.”

“We are proud to be a part of such a compassionate community. Zenescope has helped to raise awareness that comic employees and owners have a place to turn when an emergency happens,” said Binc’s Development Director Kathy Bartson. “Many thanks [to Zenescope]for elevating our mission.”

Zenescope livestreams broadcast simultaneously on Facebook.com/Zenescope, YouTube.com/Zenescope, and Twitch.tv/Zenescope at least once a month. Follow @Zenescope on all social media platforms to stay up to date on all the upcoming streams and Zenescope news!
