Scout Comics has announced We Don’t Kill Spiders, a story set during the time of the Vikings as a Norseman detective and a village witch team to stop a serial killer.
From the Black Caravan imprint: in the early viking age, a faithless norseman detective is summoned to a Scandinavian hamlet where a series of murders have occurred. Discovering the dark and bloody history of the village he investigates the local outcast, a necromantic witch who brings his atheistic values into question. Determined to prevent further homicides the two band together to discover the identity of a serial killer.
We Don’t Kill Spiders is written and illustrated by Joseph Schmalke.
“We Don’t Kill Spider is a very personal project for me and it took about three years to develop. It’s been a few years working solo on a book and i wanted to do all the artwork and writing myself. At its root it’s a true crime story with supernatural elements. This touches on my love of the noire crime dramas, serial killer documentaries, necromancers, and battle axes to the skull.”
We Don’t Kill Spiders arrives in August 2021.
