I was maybe nine years old when I first saw the M*A*S*H episode, ‘Dreams’, and forty years later, I’m still not over it. As far as terrifying hallucinatory sequences go, it’s right up there with the Holy Trinity: Dumbo’s ‘Pink Elephants On Parade’, the boat ride from ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory’ and Reinhardt’s final fate in ‘The Black Hole.’ Surrealism and flat-out dreams have been cornerstones of comic books forever, while ‘Gilligan’s Island’ is a good forty percent dream sequences, leading to today’s REM query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) still hasn’t entirely forgiven Rodrigo for a Critical Hit dream sequences about seven years ago, asking: What’s the best Dream Sequence in all of fiction?

Maybe not the best, but certainly one of the funniest: Big Lebowski!
Super Mario bros. 2, the US version.
