F&F to End at 11 Movies
Variety announced this week the Fast and the Furious franchise will be coming to a close with the eleventh installment. It’s not as long a run as the Marvel Cinematic Universe (something franchise will be chasing for decades, I’m certain), but 11 movies is nothing to sniff at.
Fear not, fans of the Furious, according to the article this doesn’t mean fast cars will be gone from cinemas forever:
This does not, however, necessarily mean that the “Fast and Furious” cinematic universe is coming to an end. While the core storyline following Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto and his family of fellow car-enthusiasts-turned-thieves-turned-physics-defying-superheroes will conclude after Lin directs the 11th installment, spin-off movies based on “Fast and Furious” characters are currently in development at Universal.
F9 was supposed to have released this year and has been pushed to a 2021 release date in light of Covid-19, as happened with so many other movies this year.
Anyone think the FF animated series on Netflix is where the character will continue to have their stories told? No? Just me? Let’s talk about it in the comments!
The Hollywood Reporter has also chimed in and confirmed Justin Lin will direct the final two installments in his infamous franchise.
His Dark Material Season 2 Air Date
Last week HBOMax/BBC dropped their trailer for the second season of His Dark Materials:
His Dark Materials: Season 2 | Official Trailer | HBO
No Description
For those readers wondering how this season was shot I’ll remind you the first and second seasons of His Dark Materials were shot concurrently in order to keep Dafne Keene (Lyra Silvertongue), and Amir Wilson (Will Perry), from aging out of their roles before the story was concluded.
Fans of the books will note how odd it is that Lin-Manuel Miranda (Lee Scoresby), and Andrew Scott (John Perry), are so heavily featured given the very much supporting roles they are playing in support of Will and Lyra’s story.
His Dark Materials season 2 will stream on HBOMax Monday, November 16th, 2020
West Wing Special has Come to HBOMax
This is just one final brief entry to encourage everyone to watch the West Wing Special streaming now on HBOMax. It debuted last week and features the original West Wing cast revisiting an old episode for a stage reading with Sterling K. Brown (Black Panther, This is Us), taking on the role of Leo McGarry.
