While it remains the most successful of DC’s weekly series offerings. there are still a few weaknesses in ’52,’ not the least of which is a lack of follow-through after the series was completed. Twelve years down the line, the biggest disappointment for me came in the form of Supernova, a cool, new heroic character who was set up to be something special. He had a great design, got an action figure, and appeared to be the heir apparent to Superman for a minute or two before…
…nothin’. Granted, the other brand-new shiny characters of 52 got seriously hosed in the years following, but the fact that we didn’t even get a three issue mini out of the the breakout character of 2006 makes me sad, leading to today’s crestfallen query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) has a long line of disappointment, though, ranging from The Outsiders’ Halo to the Legion’s Gazelle and beyond, but one of the most galling was Triathlon in the pages of The Avengers, asking: Which awesome new character like Supernova has become the biggest disappointment of your present?

Can I please just pick all the new Inhumans from the recent “Let’s Make Them Fetch” era?
That’s fair.
Good, ’cause I can’t remember any of their names.
New 52 Captain Atom. First, it looked like they were doing something different, now I don’t even know if he exists anymore.
