Paizo announces newly designed Pathfinder Adventure Card Game Core Set

Press ReleaseBy Press ReleaseMay 30, 20192 Mins Read

    PRESS RELEASE

Following five years of experience and feedback, Paizo Inc. has launched two new products to make a better, faster, and smarter Pathfinder Adventure Card Game. The fantastically illustrated 440-card Core Set and 550-card Curse of the Crimson Throne Adventure Path expansion are available at paizo.com and local gaming stores today.

In the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game, each player has a unique character with their own deck of equipment, magic, allies, and more. As their adventures continue, players add remarkable gear and breathtaking magic to their decks as their characters gain incredible powers, all of which they’ll need to challenge more and more powerful threats.

The Pathfinder Adventure Card Game Core Set allows 1–4 players to play through the exciting Dragon’s DemandAdventure Path. The new cards and rules form a modular core that allows for nearly infinite adventuring possibilities. New features give players control over the difficulty of scenarios and speed of play.

The Core Set serves as the foundation for future adventures and is compatible with the Curse of the Crimson Throne Adventure Path. Plus, players can supplement their experience with Character Add-On Decks, Pathfinder Adventure Card Society scenarios, and other accessories.

In the Curse of the Crimson Throne Adventure Pathexpansion, Korvosa is cursed that none of its monarchs shall ever die of old age or produce an heir. The metropolis teeters on the edge of anarchy. It needs heroes who can face down crime lords, rioting mobs, fervent cultists, virulent plague, undead hordes, and ancient and forgotten evils that seek to dominate and sacrifice the city.

This expansion includes the storybook and cards for the Curse of the Crimson Throne Adventure Path. Plus, the set adds 4 new character options and expands the maximum number of players to 6.

Players can also join the Pathfinder Adventure Card Society worldwide organized play campaign, which brings the fun of the Adventure Card Game to game stores and conventions! Play is organized into year-long storylines consisting of numerous scenarios set in a diverse and far-flung array of Pathfinder locations. Players will overcome challenges and defeat foes, gaining achievements that contribute to an ongoing campaign.
