The best day of the week just got a lot better with a new round of awesome comics arriving in stores this week. Staff members at Major Spoilers are here to help you with your comic book selection this week, with their roundup of comics they recommend.

Writer: Leah Williams

SOLICITATION: The Femmes from the Future find themselves on a world entirely covered by oceans. That’s no big deal, what with Earth 70% covered, but for the desert-born Dejah of Mars, some water wings are needed, stat! Really, though, the endless depths are the easy part… it’s the creatures lurking in the unknown that are the real threat, especially the intelligent ones!

STEPHEN: The hook on the first issue was interesting enough to make we wonder what happens next – especially since the two characters are separated by great distance and a great amount of time.

Writer: Chuck Brown and David F. Walker
Artist: Sanford Greene
Publisher: Image Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: The Sangerye family has fought evil for decades, but they’ve never faced anything like this. And while two family members have returned home, one may be lost forever as Hell comes to Harlem. BITTER ROOT Cover As by SANFORD GREENE will be connecting through the first story arc.

INGRID: In a world where racism literally turns people into monsters, is it possible to defeat them without becoming monsters in turn? With roots in black folklore, this tale is visceral, thoughtful, and refreshingly different from so many horror stories we’ve seen.

Writer: Sean Kelley McKeever
Artist: Alexandre Tefenkgi
Publisher: Image Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: Before he died, Steven told Sam and Alea to “follow it down.” But he didn’t tell them what they would find at the bottom of the Outpost…

INGRID: A science fiction story that is also a coming of age story set in a remote outpost where the living is harsh and natural disasters particularly deadly. How do people cope under that sort of stress? But then a deeper mystery is thrown in on top of that simmering tension, and the resulting story is spellbinding.

Writer: Mark Millar
Artist: Simone Bianchi
Publisher: Image Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
Set in a brilliant new sci-fi universe, Sharkey is a blue-collar bounty hunter who tracks criminals across the galaxy in his converted, rocket-powered ice-cream truck. Aided and abetted by his ten-year-old partner, he’s out for the biggest bounty of his career.

STEPHEN: I really wanted to review this book, but for some reason, we didn’t get sent a review copy (Image Comics), but I’m going to pick this up and read it before the weekend arrives.

Writer: Gary Carlson
Artist: Frank Fosco
Publisher: IDW Publishing
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: Welcome to Chicago! Hot on the trail of bat-Splinter, the Turtles find themselves embroiled in a new mystery when a string of killings points to a mythic villain… a vampire! But just like the Turtles themselves, things aren’t always what they seem… The entire TMNT Volume 3 run-all 23 issues-reprinted in full color for the first time!

STEPHEN: If you love the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but missed out on many of their past adventures, here is your chance to check it out again.
