Major Spoilers Question of the Day: Better With Batman Edition

Matthew PetersonBy Matthew PetersonFebruary 1, 20197 Comments1 Min Read

It is one of the unwritten rules of Major Spoilers: Everything’s better with Batman!  Of course, it’s literally true for ‘The New Scooby-Doo Movies’, for ‘The Lego Movie’, even for a couple of episodes of the Green Hornet circa 1966.  Of course, “everything” is a big concept.  Would M*A*S*H be improved by a Caped Crusader?  Would Goku find a way to beat a Super Saiyan Batman?  Could Batman defeat Bowser quicker than Mario?  The mind boggles, leading to today’s bat-shark repellent query…

The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) would like to point out that it’s not true for ‘Gotham’, but that’s another argument entirely, asking: What show, movie or cartoon do you think really would be better with Batman?

Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise! Ruthless efficiency! An almost fanatical devotion to pop culture! And a nice red uniform.

Ok, I might be going with the obvious but how much better would Arrow be with Batman. I mean I like Arrow well enough, but bring Batman in a little… even if they treated him like Jay Garrick in Flash and had him come in just to dispense info and help kick but sometimes.

      My friend said “Gotham”

I don’t think he understands the game. Or he understands it SUPER well.

Brooklyn 99 would do AWESOME with Batman, IMO. Cast someone like Rob Lowe for the part. James Marsden, maybe?
