The best day of the week just got a lot better with a new round of awesome comics arriving in stores this week. Staff members at Major Spoilers are here to help you with your comic book selection this week, with their roundup of comics they recommend.

Writer: Brian Azzarello
Artist: Lee Bermejo
Publisher: DC Comics
Cover Price: $6.99
SOLICITATION: DC BLACK LABEL, the highly anticipated new imprint from DC Comics, starts here!

The Joker is dead.

There is no doubt about that. But whether Batman finally snapped his scrawny neck or some other sinister force in Gotham City did the deed is still a mystery.

Problem is, Batman can’t remember…and the more he digs into this labyrinthian case, the more his mind starts to doubt everything he’s uncovering.

So who better to set him straight than…John Constantine? Problem with that is as much as John loves a good mystery, he loves messing with people’s heads even more. So with John’s “help,” the pair will delve into the sordid underbelly of Gotham as they race toward the mind-blowing truth of who murdered The Joker.

BATMAN: DAMNED is a bimonthly super-natural horror story told by two of comics’ greatest modern creators—a visceral thrill-ride that proudly puts the “black” in BLACK LABEL.

STACY: DC Black Label takes off with a flash bang as Batman and John Constantine try and solve the mystery of who killed the Joker, or are they? This is an amazingly mature story where Azzerello proves once again that he may be one of the most dangerous men in comics.

STACY: I’ve been a Dick Tracy fan for decades, and seeing him finally back in a comic is a real treat. Done in a style befitting the heritage of the story, this take on a pop modern Tracy is great, and Mike Allred’s art Is a wonderful fit.

This conclusion of book two packs in action while also pulling your heartstrings!

INGRID: This is the last issue of the arc, and I have been looking forward to this. It has been a heck of an adventure, not quite like anything else I’ve read, which is always a plus in my book.

Writer: W. Maxwell Prince
Artist: Martin Morazzo, Chris O’Halloran
Publisher: Image Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: Another sullen, sequential short! Here, a little girl’s best friend comes back from the dead. Or does she? It’s hard to say, ghosts being an unreliable sort.

MATTHEW: This book has been a skin-crawling ride from the very first issue and I recommend it to any and all fans of horror/thriller style comics. This is a really good (but disturbing) comic book.

Writer: Tom King
Artist: Mitch Gerads
Publisher: DC Comics

SOLICITATION: If there’s one thing popular fiction has taught us by now, it’s: never make a deal with the devil! And yet Mister Miracle is still listening when Darkseid approaches him with just such a devilish proposition—if Scott sends his newborn son to Apokolips, there will be peace on New Genesis. Since when has Darkseid been famous for his honesty?! It’ll be a miracle if this doesn’t blow up in Scott’s face.

STACY: Tom King and Mitch Gerads’ tale of family, war and sacrifice just keeps getting better and better, and this issue has a cliffhanger that makes me so eager for next month’s finale! A great tale by a great team.

But it comes at a great cost. Debut comic by internationally best-selling author Darin Strauss. Art by Vampire Academy and The Adventures of Supergirl artist Emma Vieceli. The Dickens classic reimagined! The latest from the Berger Books imprint!

INGRID: A reimagining of Dickens, in a future setting, with a strong female lead? It is as though Dark Horse wrote this solicitation just for me. But seriously, it sounds really cool.

Writer: Kelly Thompson
Artist: Stefano Caselli
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
• You thought giant land sharks were bad? How about former West Coast Avenger Tigra transformed into an extremely grouchy, extremely ENORMOUS Woman?!
• But Tigra isn’t the half of it. Who’s the insanely handsome man behind the curtain pulling her strings?
• Hawkeye, Hawkeye, America Chavez, Fuse, Gwenpool and Kid Omega are here to uncover the mystery and save the city of Los Angeles from certain death (but not extreme property damage!)
• They may not be the heroes we need, but they’re certainly the ones we deserve! Strap in, folks!

MATTHEW: The first issue of this comic was impressive on a number of levels, not the least of which is a Tigra redesign that actually looks great AND makes sense. Of course, Tigra’s not even part of the team, but the heroes assembled are worth the price of admission!

ROBOT OVERLORD: Today is the day! Today you get to discover that one comic that you love! Enjoy your quest!
