Major Spoilers Question of the Day: Mister and Missus Edition

Matthew PetersonBy Matthew PetersonJune 22, 20185 Comments1 Min Read

This week’s big X-Men wedding has given us a freshly married Mister and Missus Mutant, including their own new headline book.  Though I’m not a fan of the couple specifically, I appreciate the idea of a married superhero couple having adventures and stuff, especially since so many stories make marriage seem boring.  Of course, the other option is too MUCH drama, constantly head-faking breakups and such, which is one of the biggest issues with modern storytelling.  For my money, I want to see Batman and Catwoman tie the knot, I want Reed and Sue to come back and be awesome super-parents together, I even want Ted Mosby and Victoria to pull of the ol’ happily ever after, leading to today’s matrimonial query…

The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) really liked when Riker and Troi got married, but really wanted to see Picard and Crusher tie the knot, asking: What pop culture couple do you most want to see as Mister and Missus (or Mister and Mister or Missus and Missus)?

Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise! Ruthless efficiency! An almost fanatical devotion to pop culture! And a nice red uniform.

The snarker in me wants to say “Matthew and Stephen”

But I’ll say Malcolm Reynolds and Inara Serra
