Major Spoilers Question of the Day: Taco Tuesday Edition

Matthew PetersonBy Matthew PetersonFebruary 6, 201810 Comments1 Min Read

Now that literally every food has its own day (in recent days, as of this writing, we had Bubblegum Day, Corn Chip Day and Blonde Brownie Day), it is literally impossible to keep up with them all.  Fortunately for my poor overclocked memory, Taco Tuesday is easy enough to remember, and pretty delicious to observe, but wouldn’t it be nice if we also got Churron Saturday or Big Kahuna Burger Monday?  No, they’re not alliteratively easy to recall, but there are tons of foods both real or fictional that might make for a lovely consumption experience, leading to today’s gustatory query…

The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) would probably sit out Soylent Green Sunday, asking: What favorite food (fictional or otherwise) deserves its own day, like Taco Tuesday?

Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise! Ruthless efficiency! An almost fanatical devotion to pop culture! And a nice red uniform.

      Wednesdays could be Hamburger Humpday

Saturday has been a pizza day for a long time, at least once a month or so. Too bad it doesn’t rhyme.

      Friday Pie Day, maybe?

      • JerJones on February 6, 2018 4:26 pm

I can get behind this initiative. One question though…Pie as in Pizza Pie or that of the dessert variety?

        • Matthew Peterson on February 6, 2018 5:34 pm

I’m fine with either… or maybe both?

        • Brenning Dragonbred on February 7, 2018 12:43 pm

I left it open so it could mean either or any kind of pie. Maybe one week you want pizza, but the next week you just want a nice fruit filled pie without that pesky main course getting in the way of dessert.

Spaghetti Sunday. Because if I play my cards right I can have leftover spaghetti through Wednesday.
