    Alice: From Dream to Dream
    Boom Studios

[Solicitations] BOOM! Studios wants you to discover the magic of Alice Heroux

Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherFebruary 1, 20182 Mins Read

In September, BOOM! Studios will release Alice: From Dream to Dream, a new original graphic novel from writer/artist Giulio Macaione.

The OGN tells the story of Alice, “who’s moved back to Cincinnati and is stuck sharing a bedroom with her brother. But Alice has got an even bigger problem – she’s sharing his dreams, too! The bright spot in her life is her best friend, Jamie, but there’s more history between their families than Alice realized, and there are secrets buried deep in their small town that only she’ll be able to explore…and only in her dreams!”

    Alice: From Dream to Dream

“I’ve always wanted to tell a story about dreams and what they mean for us,” said Giulio Macaione. “But what if we could see the dreams of others? Could we look at our family and friends as usual if we knew their intimate thoughts and what’s inside their mind? I was thinking about this when I visited the wonderful Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati (where I lived for a couple of years), and it’s from there the story came. ALICE: FROM DREAM TO DREAM is a story about dreams, family and the power of friendship.”

Personally, I’m happy to see more publisher embrace the OGN format for releasing books. In the long run, I believe it will result in higher sales as the original graphic novel can be distributed more easily to bookstores, libraries, and school reading programs. Since Alice: From Dream to Dream is part of BOOM! Studios’ BOOM! Box imprint it is definitely trying to push boundaries in more ways than one.

Alice: From Dream to Dream is scheduled to arrive in September 2018. I expect we’ll hear more about this book as comic convention season ramps up to full speed.
