[FCBD] Chapterhouse Comics to release two comics on Free Comic Book Day

Robot OverlordBy Robot OverlordJanuary 15, 20183 Mins Read

Chapterhouse Comics has two comics coming our way for Free Comic Book Day.

    CAPTAIN CANUCK: INVASION
    FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2018
Story by Jay Baruchel and Van Jensen
    Art by Leonard Kirk
    Cover by John Gallagher
The biggest event in the history of Chapterhouse Comics is here with INVASION, an epic battle between Earth’s heroes and the otherworldly threat of the Borealis. The alien race has long observed our planet, and in this special event prologue, they arrive on Earth, ready to pass judgment. This Inquisition reflects on the state of the world today— war and unrest, violence and ugliness—and deliver their verdict; humanity is a failure, too dangerous to be allowed to live. The Borealis has the power to destroy whole planets. But the Borealis did not account for Captain Canuck, who stands to the last to defend his home, no matter the odds. Canuck and his fellow heroes— Kebec, Northguard, Freelance, Fantomah, Pharos, Human-Lizard, and the Agents of P.A.C.T— are proof that all is never lost, and that the world, for all its flaws, is still worth saving.

Our FCBD INVASION prologue features the debut of the Captain Canuck Season Four writing team of Jay Baruchel and Van Jensen, with art by superstar artist Leonard Kirk (Batman, Supergirl, JSA, X-Factor), and a cover by John Gallagher (Riverdale, Supergirl, The Flash). Baruchel is the writer of the film Goon, and writer-director of the sequel, Goon: Last of the Enforcers, as well as a renowned actor in TV and film, and the voice of Hiccup in How to Train Your Dragon. Jensen has written The Flash and Green Lantern Corps for DC Comics, as well as James Bond, Cryptocracy and the upcoming Two Dead. If you haven’t visited the Chapterverse, this epic summer event is the perfect welcome to our world!

DIE KITTY DIE: I LOVE YOU TO DEATH
    FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2018
Story by Dan Parent and Fernando Ruiz
Art by Dan Parent and Fernando Ruiz
Cover by Dan Parent and Fernando Ruiz

KITTY RAVENCRAFT IS BACK (BUT STILL DEAD!)

Kitty is dead… and Free Comic Book Day is just not the same without her! Following the shocking conclusion to Die Kitty Die: Hollywood Or Bust, news of Kitty Ravencraft’s unexpected and mysterious demise spreads throughout the Kitty-verse! Over at Kitty Comix, sneaky, opportunistic publisher Skip Stone is delighted to finally have the death of his main character that he always wanted to exploit!

Meanwhile, Kitty’s friends are suffering through the worst Free Comic Book Day ever without her. Just when they thought their day couldn’t get any worse, Kitty’s ex-husband, Derek the Warlock, arrives in search of answers! Derek decides to go directly to the source; Kitty’s disembodied self! When she rejects his unholy help, Derek shows Kitty what life WITHOUT him would be like by zapping her into one Free Comic Book Day comic book after another! Will Kitty survive this four colour fury or will she finally give in and be Derek’s dame forever?

This special FCBD prelude to Die Kitty Die Volume Three (releasing 2018), sees the return of the critically-acclaimed hit comedy from beloved Harvey and Archie Comics creators Dan Parent and Fernando Ruiz and goes where no other “good girl” series dares to go, with racy storylines and a knowing wink at the weirdness of comics and pop culture!

Free Comic Book Day is the first Saturday in May.
