[Statues] Dynamite announces new Dejah Thoris statue based on J. Scott Campbell design

Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherOctober 4, 20171 Comment2 Mins Read

In the books by Edgar Rice Burroughs, the Princess of Mars, Dejah Thoris, walked around with no cloths. Fortunately, Dynamite Entertainment knows it can’t release a statue like that, but it can get J. Scott Campbell to design one that is pretty risque…

Sculpted by Steve Kiwis of Rvckvs International, the Women of Dynamite: Dejah Thoris Diorama Statue is inspired by Campbell’s cover to the seminal 2010 Warlord of Mars #1 comic book. Measuring approximately 8.75″ in height, with a base measuring 9″ by 6.5″, this cold-cast resin statue comes with gold-colored micro-link metal chain details. This highly-detailed masterpiece in three dimensions ships in a full-color display box with a Certificate of Authenticity, individually numbered as part of a limited edition run.

I do enjoy the J. Scott Campbell style and design – heck, the Major Spoilers logo uses Campbell’s font – even if proportions get a little wonky at times. Steve Kiwis brings it all together, and regardless of how you view this statue, it is a wonderful piece of work.

The Women of Dynamite: Dejah Thoris Diorama Statue is expected to arrive in January 2018. At this time, there is no word on price, but I expect this will have a price tag in the hundreds of dollars.

I would love to get that. But I think my girlfriend would disapprove.
