[Movies] Hellboy gets a 2019 release date

Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherSeptember 14, 20171 Comment1 Min Read

Yesterday, we got our first look at David Harbour as Hellboy, and today we learn the release date.

It looks like the Hellboy movie will arrive in theaters on January 11, 2019. That’s a year and a half away, which seems like plenty of time to shoot, edit, and add all the special effects needed for the film before release date.

While some films try to stay away from ratings before the film has been reviewed, it looks like Hellboy is more than happy to get a R-rating. If you’ve read the Hellboy comics by Mike Mignola and company, you know things can get bloody and violent (and a bit sweary), so don’t go in thinking there will be wall to wall nekkid bodies running around in wild sex orgies.

Hellboy stars David Harbour as Hellboy, and is directed by Neil Marshall. The film also stars Ian McShane as Professor Broom, Milla Jovovich as Nimue the Blood Queen, Sasha Lane as Alice Monaghan, Penelope Mitchell as Ganeida, and recently announced Daniel Dae Kim as Ben Daimio.

It may be a great movie, but it won’t have Ron Perlman’s wit and charm.
