Major Spoilers Question of the Day: Your Weekend Plans Edition

Matthew PetersonBy Matthew PetersonAugust 18, 20173 Comments1 Min Read

I’ve always though I could make a mint if I were to create a Youtube channel that replicated the Saturday Morning cartoons of my youth, year by year, so that old folks like me could relive their childhood before setting out for brunch or cleaning gutters or whatever it is we do because we’re boring and old.  The weekend also has important family time for me, lacking as it does in 5:30 wakeup calls and hours locked in various call center areas, as well as time to write, edit and just basically be an internet dork, leading to today’s Bugs Bunny/Road Runner query…

The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) remembers working Saturday/Sunday, and it blew, but even if you gotta work, you probably have something going on, asking: What are you most looking forward to this weekend?

Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise! Ruthless efficiency! An almost fanatical devotion to pop culture! And a nice red uniform.

Not a particularly happy weekend for me (long story, don’t want to bring anybody down), so mostly just looking forward to being able to unwind with a couple of games (Persona 5 and original Final Fantasy VII) and re-reading “And Another Thing…”, with late Saturday night bringing the 4th Doctor serial “Terror of the Zygons” on PBS.

Maybe re-reading the weird free Green Lantern/Colonel Sanders comic I got from Comixology just because it was so bizarre that it might cheer me up.
