Major Spoilers Poll of the Week: 5 Year Plan

Robot OverlordBy Robot OverlordMay 30, 20177 Comments1 Min Read

If you want to get something done, the best way is to create a plan to get there. Some use a Vision Board, others are content with a Daily To-Do List. Still, others prefer to use a five year plan to figure out what they want to do next with their lives, and/or their business. Long term goals don’t seem as daunting with a plan in place, which leads us to this week’s Major Spoilers Poll of the Week.

Planning would mean that I know what I want to do so… no.

I suppose I do on a technicality, but it isn’t the kind of plan involving finances or job advancement or anything of that nature. It is more of a guide of plans I want to accomplish before my declining health makes certain things impossible and the steps I am taking to delay certain things (I’ve already gotten past the point where I am supposed to be wheelchair bound, so I think I’m doing okay).

I don’t have a five year plan. I am too lazy and I don’t meet most of my goals. I set up my retirement plan years ago and now I rely on luck which works out pretty well for me I have a home and a lovey family and I don’t need much more.

Up until 40 I had a 5 year plan, and achieved my goals with relative success. Now my focus is largely split between the day to day and longer term goals like retirement. The mid term 3-5 year plans have fallen by the wayside.

45 and still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. So not a real plan, though I keep plugging at work and the like working towards shorter term goals.

Heck, every time I get something that resembles a plan, life throws a curve ball that side lines it.
