NONE Of you picked my Number 3… WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU????

5.) I’m not surprised that none of you picked this… but I don’t care… I love the show so you can all suck on an ice cube… This is the home of one of the most super secret vehicles in the world… it’s armored and equipped with heat-seeking missiles, .50 machine guns, it’s bullet proof, radiation proof, and in some contexts can go in to sub-orbit (thank you 3rd season, we hate you)… I’m talking of course about The Lady, Airwolf… now in season’s 1&2 The Lady had a place to stay that was so remote, you had to take a helicopter to get there and then a jeep to get even closer… The Lair (or at least that’s what I’ve always seen it called)… Yes, it’s a big dumb mountain out in Utah that has a hole in the top so you can fly in and out of it. But it’s defended and just pretty darn cool… that and my 6 year old self loves me some Airwolf… The Lair!

4.) Now, I know what some of you are going to say “It’s not as good as the Japanese version” – “That’s not real Anime” – “pick up your socks” – and to that my 7 year old self says “Mom, you’re wrong about the first 2 and I’ll pick them up before dinner, just let me sit down and watch ROBOTECH!” So obviously, my #4 has to be the Super Defense Force 1, the SDF not only is a ship that can trans-dimensionally teleport it’s also got a village living inside it (because Pluto is cold)… and it can turn into a freaking massive ROBOTECH unit itself! How can you not love that? And to those that say “Macross was better” – look, maybe you’re right… but I didn’t see Macross as a 7 year old child, I saw ROBOTECH so stuff it!

3.) Now in my real world job, I work in an building that has all kinds of things, cubicals, a warehouse, occasional samples that I can pretend make me look smart (it’s not the samples fault, it’s just that there’s no fixing me). But one thing that I have, that no one in NYC, LA, or even Rodrigo up in Seattle has… and that is – I work 20 minutes From THE HALL OF JUSTICE!!!!! That’s right, nestled in little old Cincinnati, Ohio (home of WKRP) there is the Terminal Union building (which is finally under renovation/restoration). This is the building was the inspiration for our Super Friends cartoon which Batman, Superman,Flash, Aquaman, and the “Wonder Twins” or Wendy & Marvin – and all the other DC heroes could go and make right with the world… How could none of you choose this… you have all saddened me tremendously.

2.) I’m just going to say one word… TARDIS…. do I need to say anything more? We good? Great… let’s move on

1.) So, you’re saying “BigJim – you had the TARDIS as your number 2… how can you beat the TARDIS???” To which I respond – it’s my list nah nah nee boo boo… My number 1 will be controversial… not because it’s mobile, not because there are over 400 men and women aboard her, not because she travels along the final frontier…. no, you may argue my number 1 does not fit because “Who is the hero?” and to this I say, it’s obvious… Captain Kirk was written as the lead hero with the help of Mr. Spock, Doctor McCoy, Chief Engineer Scott, Lt. Uhura, Lt. Sulu, Mr. Checkov, Nurse Chapel, and a cast of about 1 billion cannon fodder….. errr I mean “Red Shirts”…. I am of course talking about the NCC1701 USS Enterprise (Original TOS version)…. I love this ship, she was a good home and she is more than deserving of the title BEST HERO HEADQUARTERS….

      but that’s just my 2¢
