2) NATURE BOY
For over 40 years, Ric Flair has been stylin’, proflin’, limousine ridin’ et al in his role as The Nature Boy, the most perfect heel (read: bad guy) that the South ever produced. Though not the first ‘Nature Boy’ in wrestling, he earned the title by beating Nature Boy Buddy Rogers in 1978, and has been known as “Naitch” ever since. (Yes, he’s still active, well into his 60s, albeit not always actively wrestling.) His comic-book counterpart, David Crandall, hails from Charlton Comics, where he earned he powers of the classical elements (earth/air/fire/water) from the very deities that oversee them. His career was short-lived, however, as he debuted very early in the Silver Age, before superheroes became the driving force of the comics industry.
