So what do we take away from all of this? Yes, the effects look so much better (because there is a lot of metal and space shots which are easy to do), but there is also this feeling that everything in this world is more real than what we’ve seen before. It feels like we are in the trenches with the rebels as they try and steal the plans to the Death Star.
Yes, we’ve seen so many Star Wars movies over the years, but this is the first time we’ve seen a movie that doesn’t feature Luke, Han, Leia, and the rest. Yes, there is Darth Vader, but that was expected in the context and timeline of the story.
