First, the bad news. Adventure Time, the highly popular animated series from Cartoon Network, is coming to an end. The good news? You still have plenty of time to enjoy your favorite cartoon, as the show won’t end until 2018.
Cartoon Network made the announcement today that Adventure Time will come to an end in 2018, after eight years and 71 hours of programming for the network.
“Adventure Time changed the definition of what a kids’ TV series could be, and it’s had a resounding impact upon popular culture around the world,” said Rob Sorcher, chief content officer for Cartoon Network. “Cartoon Network Studios is proud to have brought together this group of brilliant artists and animators who helped make Adventure Time one of the most critically acclaimed TV series of a generation.”
The ending of Adventure Time follows on the heals that Regular Show is also ending in the next year.
Adventure Time was one of Cartoon Network’s highest rated shows, earning six Emmys and two BAFTAs.
