[Solicitations] Oni Press announces Local Comic Shop Day exclusives

Press ReleaseBy Press ReleaseSeptember 23, 20163 Mins Read

    PRESS RELEASE –

Oni Press, Portland’s premier independent comic book publisher, is excited to support the second annual Local Comic Shop Day (LCSD) with INVADER ZIM #0 and the second installment of the over-sized RICK AND MORTY TREASURY!

Invader ZIM #0 is a comic-sized zine from Dib Membrane’s favorite alien conspiracy website, Truthshrieker! Written and illustrated by the masterminds of the original Nickelodeon animated series, including character designer Aaron Alexovich, GIR voice actor Rikki Simons, screenwriter Eric Trueheart, and, of course, the Control Brain himself, animated series creator Jhonen Vasquez!

Fans couldn’t get enough of our over-sized treasury editions last year, so we’re excited to offer a second 8.5”x13” RICK AND MORTY TREASURY EDITION with stories written and illustrated by Tom Fowler (MAD Magazine, Quantum and Woody) and 2016 Eisner Award-nominee Kyle Starks (Sexcastle, Invader ZIM)!

These LCSD exclusives will be available to participating comic shop retailers with Diamond Code AUG168316 for Invader ZIM #0 and Diamond Code AUG168317 for the Rick and Morty Treasury Edition #2.

This year’s Local Comic Shop Day takes place on November 19, 2016. An annual event sponsored by ComicsPRO, Local Comic Shop Day is the only comic book industry event developed and conducted by retailers for retailers. The event calls attention to locally owned independent comic book specialty stores, celebrating their unique and vital role in pop culture. Participating stores can be found with Local Comic Shop Day’s Event Locator.
