[Gaming] Chandra’s Pyrohelix and more cards for upcoming Magic: The Gathering Kaladesh

    Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherSeptember 13, 2016Updated:September 13, 20162 Comments2 Mins Read

Wizards of the Coast is set to release the new Magic: The Gathering Kaladesh on September 30th. The company sent us four cards featuring some very amazing powers that are on display at the Inventors’ Fair on Kaladesh, where anything is possible.

Take the jump for an exclusive look at these cards.

In its upcoming card set, Kaladesh, Magic explores a bright new world where anything is buildable, and any problem can be solved by the elegant, wondrous devices that abound on the plane. One of our hero Planeswalkers, Chandra, returns home to Kaladesh while the world is in the midst of the prestigious Inventors’ Fair, a showcase for the world’s most talented geniuses and their innovative creations.

instead of using magic, on Kaladesh, work is accomplished with automatons, thopters, and artifact creatures fueled by aether – where beauty and function meet in some very steampunk-ish looking designs.  Only problem (according to the M:TG Gamepedia page), fire magic is banned, wish is going to be a problem for some magic users.

From the story aspect, Impeccable Timing tying into Chandra’s return to Kaladesh is a nice twist, and Chandra’s Pyrohelix is going to cause more than a few problems in story.

What are your reactions to these new cards?

Look for more information on the Kaladesh set coming later this week!
