    Talk Back: The Tick!

Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherAugust 21, 20164 Comments1 Min Read

On Friday, Amazon released the pilot episode of The Tick as part of its Amazon Prime Pilot Season initiative.

In a world where superheroes have been real for decades, an accountant with mental health issues and zero powers comes to realize his city is owned by a global super villain long-thought dead. As he struggles to uncover this conspiracy, he falls in league with a strange blue superhero, who may or may not be a figment of his own imagination…

Personally, I thought the pilot was a bit short at 30 minutes, but other than that, I had a good time.

Did you get a chance to watch the episode yet? What did you like? What did you not like? And, most importantly, do you want to see this show get a full season?

Use the comment section below to sound off, as we all want to know what your thoughts are!

Loved it. Love the more adult, darker take on it compared to past shows. His suit is not quite right, but I can get over that. Really hoping for a full season.

The suit looks good from a distance, and from certain angles, but when you suddenly realize all the little bits all over the suit that are unnecessary, it kind of falls apart.

I kinda like the suit. I thought the additional detail help lend an organic feel to it, lending to the question on whether it’s actually a suit within the fiction. The main issue I had with The Tick’s look is that the actor isn’t that physically imposing. Not everyone can be Patrick Wartburton. Serafinowicz nails the dialog, so it works.

My reaction was best summed up as “not bad”. I like the casting, even though I miss Patrick Warburton in the title role. It wasn’t quite as funny as I had hoped, but then again, much of the emphasis was on setting Arthur up, which I did enjoy. As it stands, it’s not my favorite incarnation of The Tick, but if it’s picked up, I will watch it.
