[Television] Jafar and Aladdin come to Once Upon a Time #SDCC

Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherJuly 23, 20161 Comment1 Min Read

At the end of the Once Upon a Time panel at the San Diego Comic Con, fans were treated to an early look at Aladdin and Jafar’s first appearance on the series.

On the plus side, Jafar comes off as really, really evil, and should add something to the show this fall. On the downside, jeez those effects look like crap, which (in my opinion) has become the hallmark look of shows produced on the network for the last few years as the studio tries to maximize profit, while lowering cost. I don’t know if it is the slapped on stock Adobe After Effects Lighting effect, or the really bad tracking of the in studio home of Aladdin with the computer rendered background, or if it is something else all together.

Is that just me, or do you feel the same way?

The visual effects on OuaT have always been really bad, but the story is very good in spite of that
