Sometimes, friends ask me why I keep paying for cable, and the answer is simple: Random chance. This weekend, The Widget and I stumbled upon the last twenty minutes of ‘Charlotte’s Web’, a movie which she immediately decided is now among her favorites. If you’re not familiar, the cartoon (the original Hanna-Barbera version, thank you, I don’t need freaky 3-D animated Uncanny Valley piggies) is a story of loss and coming to terms with one’s own mortality, but also the enduring power of friendship. Charlotte’s efforts to save Wilbur from becoming bacon are touching on a number of levels, not the least of which came in seeing her efforts to define her porcine pal succinctly enough to fit in her barn-web, leading to today’s arachnid query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) is really hoping for “Lloyd, see you around, maybe” or at least “Not Too Annoying”, asking: What simple message to describe you (and save you from the farmer) would appear in your own personal Charlotte’s Web?
