Great episode, sounds like you guys had a lot of fun with this one!

I have 0 exposure to Legion of Super Heroes. ZERO. What recommended reading/watching would you provide someone who wants to check them out?

I had very little knowledge about Legion until few years ago, so I went with New 52 Legion when it started. I thought it was not bad at all, although long time fans were not thrilled by it, I think. They are easy to find and since its reboot, they introduce you to characters. After that I went and found some older stories.

Really nice episode, here’s my short list:

      #5 Braniac 5
      #4 Lightning Lad
      #3 Wildfire
      #2 Dawnstar
      #1 Chameleon Boy

Matthew and Stephen, I have heard Matthew go on and on for a while about the LoS. I have yet to read a single issue.
In the podcast y’all talked about re-boots and three-boots and Mark Waid-boots.
So which version/volume is the best to start with? What TPB would you recommend?

It’d recommend the “Showcase Presents The Legion of Super-Heroes” black and white reprints. They’re cheap and easy to obtain, and will give you an idea of whether the Legion is your bag or not. There are five or six volumes already, which covers a couple of decades of LSH history.

The rule about having to have a unique power was a retcon, by Carey Bates, I believe. So it wouldn’t have been an issue when Lightning Lad and Lightning Lass were both on the team.

I love most of the Legionnaires so it’s hard for me to come up with a top 5. There are (almost) no wrong answers. Still, I’m a bit surprised that neither of you mentioned Saturn Girl. I think she and Brainiac 5 are probably the must haves. As to my top 5, it depends on which day of the week you ask me and what kind of mood I’m in, but I’ll take a stab at it.

      5. Timber Wolf
      4. Quislet
      3. Ultra Boy
      2. Brainiac 5
      1. Saturn Girl
