[Movies] Wonder Woman Set Photos Show WWI Setting

The Daily Mail has released several photographs from the set of Wonder Woman shooting on the River Thames in South Essex.

“Gal donned a long, slate-grey coat, which was cinched in at the waist with a tan leather belt,” The Daily Mail observed, “The styling consisted of brown lace-up boots and a wide-brimmed fedora hat, with a white shirt beneath … Chris was also spotted in full costume as the USAF pilot, wearing a brown leather aviator jacket and matching trousers. The rest of his costume consisted of beige knee-high socks, covering up in a khaki parka coat with fur lining.”

All of these fashion clues (in addition to some on set signage and vehicles), indicate that the first stand alone Wonder Woman movie will be taking place during the First World War in Europe.

Gal Gadot stars as Diana, Chris Pine plays Steve Trevor and they are joined by David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Ewen Bremner, Robin Wright, Said Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya and Lucy Davis and will hit theaters in 2017.

Thanks for braving The Mail so we didn’t have to. No sane and unbigoted person in the UK would.

I’m guessing anything Wonder Woman accomplished during World War I was either secret or covered up. Because if Diana first appeared during WWI, we have to question just what the hell Jonathon Kent was so paranoid about in Man of Steel.

“The world isn’t ready for you, Clark. You’re going to change everything. They won’t understand.”
“But Pa, what about that super-powered Amazon woman who fought in World War I? I learned about her in history class.”
      “Well that…”
“She had magic weapons. She also said she was Zeus’ daughter. Or maybe she was made out of clay…it’s kind of hazy…but I don’t see how my being an alien is any more shocking than that.”
      “……um…”

Or maybe historians wrote Wonder Woman off as an insane fraud?
