[Solicitations] No Mercy rips into new story arc

Press ReleaseBy Press ReleaseNovember 6, 20152 Mins Read

Writer Alex de Campi (Archie vs. Predator), artist Carla Speed McNeil (Finder), and colorist Jenn Manley Lee (Dicebox) will launch a new story arc in their ongoing thrilling drama series NO MERCY this December.

Previously in NO MERCY, a bus full of privileged college freshmen got a brutally rude awakening on their way to build schools in a Central American town when they careened off a cliff and became stranded in the unforgiving desert. They quickly realized that the rules of their old lives did not apply to their current predicament, fraught as it was with the dangers of a harsh environment, cutthroat enemies, and hungry wildlife.

In NO MERCY #5, Gina finds her spirit animal.

“The new arc of No Mercy is just as bloody as the last, and widens the tension out to bring in families, the school, and Sister Ines’ extremely dodgy relatives,” said de Campi. “One of the things we’re proudest of with No Mercy is keeping the tension ratcheted up all the way throughout this arc (which goes through Issue #9) as we learn more about these teens, a few of them are saved, and a few of them get themselves further into danger. And one, who won’t live past Issue 6.”

“Readers are gonna get some of the moments they’ve been hoping for in this next arc. They just might not happen to the people they expected, that’s all…” added McNeil.

“Believe it or not, even more drama gets introduced, with even more ramifications than falling off a cliff,” said Lee.

NO MERCY #5 (Diamond code: OCT150504) hits stores Wednesday, December 9th. Final order cutoff deadline for retailers is Monday, November 16th.
