ASTONISHING ANT-MAN #1
Writer: Nick Spencer
Artist: Ramon Rosanas
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: Scott Lang was a down-on-his-luck, divorced ex-con — until he stole renowned scientist and super hero Hank Pym’s size-altering technology in the hopes of saving his daughter’s life. Through that act of doing wrong for the right reasons, Scott inadvertently learned how to be a hero himself. With Pym’s blessing and his daughter Cassie at his side, he became… The Astonishing Ant-Man! But when a curveball upends Scott’s life, will he continue to be a hero, or will he return to his former life of crime?
ROB: Ant-Man was one of the more entertaining titles to show up right before Secret Wars kicked off, and I’m hoping this can effectively pick up where that one left off, because who doesn’t need more Grizzly?
BACK TO THE FUTURE #1

Artist: Brent Schoonover, Dan Schoening

MATTHEW: Finding out how Doc and Marty became friends has me interested, and the original writer’s participation makes this one feel special. Hope they don’t become @$$holes, and that everything’s alright with their kids…
ROB: This is the perfect day for this release, and I will happily celebrate the day Marty makes it to the future by seeing more of his adventures.
STEPHEN: Some really smart person picked today to release the Back to the Future comics, and considering Bob Gale is involved in the story, you know this is the must read comic this week. Buy this comic, your future depends on it!

Now Chloe is on a mission to find out who Astrid Mueller really is. What is this Clean Room she’s been hearing about where your deepest fear and worst moments are revealed? Chloe intends to immerse herself in the Clean Room and wreak havoc on Astrid’s empire
MATTHEW: When they said Gail Simone on Vertigo, they had my pre-order, but I’m really hoping that this book lives up to the excitement I have about it…
RODRIGO: Self help gurus are some of the scariest people out there. This is probably going to be very interesting.
FADE OUT #10
Writer: Ed Brubaker
Artist: Sean Phillips, Elizabeth Breitweiser
Publisher: Image Comics
Cover Price: $3.50
SOLICITATION: Another secret about the murder comes to light!
CHRIS: Fade Out continues to be one of those comics that captivates, enthralls, disgusts and continually leaves me on the edge of my seat. Showing the filthy side of Hollywood and its secrets is something I can never get enough of and Brubaker and Phillips have done a great job mixing real history within their fiction. I highly suggest everyone go back and start reading this from the beginning if you haven’t already, it’s fantastic.
STEPHEN: The story just keeps getting better and more bizarre and the art continues to shine. This is the best mystery comic on the shelves today, and really deserves your attention.
FISTFUL OF BLOOD #1
Writer:Kevin Eastman and Simon Bisley
Artist: Kevin Eastman
Publisher: IDW
Cover Price: 4.99
SOLICITATION: “She drifted into town with a few days to kill…” Re-releasing the crazed adventure from Kevin Eastman and Simon Bisley! Every issue of this special edition will feature artwork re-mastered by Kevin Eastman, all-new colors, and a plethora of sketches, process work and other bonus material, too!
RODRIGO: I think I had seen some of the old editions of this, so I’m curious to see just how old school it is. Judging from the cover, the answer seems to be “plenty”.
GOTHAM ACADEMY #11

Artist: Karl Kerschl
Publisher: DC Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: The gang is going downtown! Olive and Maps use Kyle’s tennis tournament as an excuse to explore Gotham City and investigate the mysterious appearances of Calamity. Could Olive’s mom really be alive?
WAYNE: This comic is one of the very best of the new Bat-books being produced today, so don’t miss it!
KARNAK #1
Writer: Warren Ellis
Artist: Gerardo Zaffino
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: “My curse is that I see the flaw in all things. Systems. Philosophies. Structures. People. Everything. Never forget who I am. I am Karnak of the Inhumans.” You may not know who Karnak is now, but you will when Warren Ellis (MOON KNIGHT, Planetary) and Gerardo Zaffino are done with you. Phil Coulson goes to Karnak to help with a SHIELD case with Inhuman implications and what he’s going to find will terrify you.
CHRIS: Say what you will about Warren Ellis and superheroes but the man can write a mighty fine one every now and again. I loved his wonderful, albeit short, run on Moon Knight, so seeing his take on another “low-key” character like Karnak is sure to be interesting at least.
MATTHEW: The upside of Inhumans replacing mutants is right here, as one of the older characters in the Marvel U finally gets his day in the spotlight..
