[NYCC’15] DC Super Hero Girls sizzle reel

Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherOctober 12, 20151 Comment2 Mins Read

Fans at the New York Comic Con were able to sit down and hear first hand what DC has planned for the upcoming DC Super Hero Girls line.  The publisher shared this video of the highlights from the convention.

Get your cape on! DC Super Hero Girls, the girl-powered new line of toys, animation and graphic novels, made a splash at New York Comic-Con with a standing room only panel and booth. In this clip, hear from several of the women responsible for bringing the DC Super Hero Girls to life as they discuss what this new take on the characters means to them and to the next generation of DC fans.

It seems like DC Comics is moving in the right direction with this new line. Let’s hope the publisher doesn’t rely on one year’s worth of data to determine whether or not to keep the line going or not, as it may take a couple of years for the holiday sales to catch up to the target audience interest level. It would also be interesting to see some of the costume designs transfer over to the comic book line. I know many people like the skimpy revealing outfits that some characters (Harley Quinn) currently sports, but the above design also works quite well.

This doesn’t really seem like something I would enjoy, but I’m all for anything that would get my sisters to enjoy comic book characters.
