[Kickstarter] i-Brix wants to bring wireless lighting to your LEGO table

Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherJune 24, 20152 Mins Read

While I enjoy building LEGO sets and showing them off on our Major Spoilers Video channel on YouTube (subscribe today), I don’t like trying to light the sets because it requires hiding wires and such. A new Kickstarter campaign promises to change all of that by using Tesla technology.

i-Brix Wireless Lighting System using Nikola Tesla’s concept for wireless power that the brilliant scientist developed decades ago. Of course Edison and the power companies shut him down quickly as it would have meant free power for everyone. In the last six years, inventors and companies have been re-examining Tesla’s work and the iBrix team have developed a way to power light bricks for your sets.

i-Brix is designed to work WITH your existing LEGO® collection – our Power Plate base plate and Lit Brix will work in conjunction with your existing bricks and pieces, allowing you the flexibility to use all of your existing components! And, for future reference, we are developing additional features and other “Brix” that will work with our existing i-Brix system.

The idea is really sound and could change the way you play, develop, and design your LEGO cities. With 22 days remaining, i-Brix has a long way to go to reach its goal of $130,000.  You can find out more at the i-Brix Kickstarter page.
