Black Angel is a short film that has a really interesting story, and it is finally available online for all to see.

Commissioned by George Lucas 34 years ago, Black Angel is a movie that really goes into the tale of myth and storytelling as a knight returns to his homelands after the crusades to find things not quite right.

Director Richard Christian was the art director on Star Wars, and Lucas hired him to do this film that would run ahead of Empire Strikes Back in 1980. Just over 400 theaters in the UK were able to see the film, but somehow the film was lost. LOST! That is until the original negative was found in 2011 and restored.

Christian notes that his fight sequence inspired Lucas to do the same when Luke and Darth Vader meet on Dagobah in The Empire Strikes Back, and the style and look influenced Excalibur a great deal.

I wonder what the big announcement is going to be?
