C2E2 is just underway for the general public, but for retailers, they are having a nice breakfast with the publishers who are sharing information about their big events.
Chris Wilson was there, and here’s a quick rundown of what Marvel and Valiant discussed.
Marvel did their talk, mainly focusing on Secret Wars. They will be releasing a “battle board” for retailers to give out, a map that charts secret wars from the 80’s to now and what order to read. Spider-Gwen will appear in secret wars as well as other characters from her universe. Infinity Gems will be another retailer product (something I feel like would be similar to GL rings) they will release next week or three, a teaser image for post Secret Wars that is a blank cover with just words that say “8 months later”. The announcer did let slip “new Marvel Universe” then said “did I say new Marvel Universe?” Take that for what you will.
Valiant will have a event in summer called Book of Death written by the guy who did armor wars.

We already know about the Book of Death, as Valiant shared information with us on the site from a couple of weeks ago. The 8-month later gimmick has been talked about since around May of 2014, so it looks like we are going to finally see what Marvel has in store for the reboot/no-reboot fairly quickly after Secret Wars.
