Major Spoilers Poll of the Week
You may have heard that Sony Pictures has set up a Ghostbusters production banner called Ghost Corps to capitalize on the fervor/excitement regarding an all female Ghostbusters movie. The idea is to have another movie in production featuring an all-male cast, with Channing Tatum set to produce and possibly star. While many of us are troubled by the boy vs. girl nature of franchise, and even more troubled that the Interwebz seems to be taking sides on who is going to “win”, the idea that the original Ghostbusters (Egon, Peter, Ray, and Winston) have franchised their company to others is rather interesting. Which brings us to this week’s big question…

    DISCUSSION:
Dr. Scott Robson from Fort Hays State University sits down with Stephen to discuss where communication fails in comics, television, radio, and social media, and how we all need to actively engage with one another.

      Here’s my Ghostbusters theory.

First film comes out and they have a wacky adventure then the second group of guys comes along with their Ghostbusters group, but they bill themselves as the Real Ghostbusters and have a zany adventure. 1st group shows up at the end with their trademark lawyer.

End credit sequence teasers a familiar villain.
So the 3rd film can be Ghostbusters vs Real Ghostbusters: Age of Gozer!

I think that the prospect of multiple Ghostbusters movies could work if they approached it from the right angle. The idea of a movie with a mostly single gender cast might even be viable if the two movies complemented each other telling a single story from two different perspectives. The idea that i had would be something like the female movie would have romantic comedy threads through the story, and at a certain point they encounter an antagonist who captures/defeats them, and then the men (brothers/boyfriends/etc) would have to become Ghostbusters to rescue/save them and then they could probably squeeze out a 3rd movie with both casts where they actually come together as a unified group working off of each others strengths defeat the villain. (Similar to the way the Marvel built their way up to the Avengers movie)

I have noticed over the past few weeks the News and some other links are messed up, for me it adds an extra “http://majorspoilers.com/2015/03/10/major-spoilers-podcast-615-failure-to-communicate/” to the links and it errors out. Just me or is anyone else seeing this?

      Great show!
