GEORGE’S PICK
Imaginary Drugs
Writers: Michael McDermott and Various
Artists: Jonathan Brandon Sawyer and Various
Publisher: IDW Publishing
Price: $24.99
In Stores: January 20th, 2015
ORDER ON AMAZON
“Imaginary Drugs apparently started out as a Kickstarter campaign, but somewhere along the line got picked up by IDW. Editor Michael McDermott bills it as hallucinatory cosmic comic anthology in the vein of Heavy Metal, which is a very good thing indeed. The previews look rad and the solicitation promises war toads, G.U.N.T.S., and luchador gorillas, amongst other things. What’s not to love? On an unrelated note, I am also sad that the Cleveland Cavaliers also elected to trade Waiters.” – George
JASON’S PICK
Absolute Batman Incorporated HC
Writer: Grant Morrison
Artists: Chris Burnham and Yannick Paquette
Publisher: DC Comics
Price: $125.00
In Stores: January 7th, 2015
ORDER ON AMAZON
“There is no other choice this month! Grant Morrison’s giant conclusion to his years long Batman run collected in the ultimate format. Morrison did a lot of things in this story that had never been done before. Corporate Batman, validating Silver Age characters, and killing a Robin. Actually, that had been done before, but it’s still a great book. One of the best Batman stories ever!” – Jason
MATTHEW’S PICK
Star Wars: the Original Marvel Years Omnibus Volume 1 HC
Writers: Roy Thomas, Howard Chaykin, Archie Goodwin, Jo Duffy and Chris Claremont
Artists: Carmine Infantino, Water Simonson and Herb Trimpe
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Price: $125.00
In Stores: January 20th, 2015
ORDER ON AMAZON
“I don’t have the money to pick up this trade right now, but you can bet it’s on my hit list. The original Star Wars series is a guilty pleasure of mine, with the ‘Magnificent Seven’ parody (featuring Jaxxon, the Rebel Rabbit), the Carmine Infantino art and Roy Thomas inventing the Expanded Universe one issue at a time. Twenty-six issue of Marvel-style madness in a galaxy far, far away is even worth a price point like this one…” – Matthew
CHRIS’ PICK
Transformers: Dark Cybertron HC
Writers: James Robert and John Barber
Artists: Phil Jimenez and Various
Publisher: IDW Publishing
Price: $49.99
In Stores: January 21st, 2015
ORDER ON AMAZON
“Want to know why Shockwave is really the most dangerous and evil Decepticon? Want to see what happens when all hell breaks loose on Cybertron and the bad guys win? Read Dark Cybertron. It’s an awesome epic story with a great cast of Transformers and some glorious robot punching action! I mean, two Metroplexes fighting?! Right on!” – Chris
ASHLEY’ PICK

“Spider-Man and Ms. Marvel – what more could you want? Oh, every other Spider-person ever! Seriously, this series should not have been as amazing as it is. Pick it up. You’ll learn something. Plus, Spider-Gwen!” – Ashley
STEPHEN’ PICK
Star Wars: the Original Marvel Years Omnibus Volume 1 HC
Writers: Roy Thomas, Howard Chaykin, Archie Goodwin, Jo Duffy and Chris Claremont
Artists: Carmine Infantino, Water Simonson and Herb Trimpe
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Price: $125.00
In Stores: January 20th, 2015
ORDER ON AMAZON
“Forget the price. Forget that you can find these comics in most bargain bins at your local comic book shop. Just remember these three things – Giant. Green. Rabbit. There’s also Marvel’s take on Star Wars a New Hope and Empire Strikes Back if those things are important to you. Sadly, this isn’t a oversized format coming in at 7.8 x 11.1 inches, but that’s okay, it’s as close to the original format as you are going to get.
GIANT GREEEN RABBIT!” – Stephen
