EFX, the company behind those awesome Marvel prop replicas that were featured on The Want List, has secured a license to create an accurate reproduction of the Scout Trooper Helmets from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
This helmet is the most accurate reproduction of this helmet ever made to date. The Lucasfilm archives graciously sent to us not only an original screen-used helmet, but the actual wooden master patterns that were used to make the screen-used helmets! Also, we got an original decal sheet from ILM with all of the symbols and markings on this helmet.
The helmet is made from fiberglass and metal, has a fully lined interior so you don’t hurt your face, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
On top of that EFX plans on attending the San Diego Comic Con with something special in the company’s Legend line.
How much will the full size (1:1) Scott Trooper Helmet set you back? $699, plus shipping and handling. I know people like @TheTrekNerd and Bill Doran who pride themselves on making accurate looking props, but to get access to the original molds, and then crafting something for the masses fascinates me. Don’t think I’ll be able to afford one of these soon, but if someone wants to add it to the background set pieces for our live Finally Friday show, it would be welcome!
