There are a few artists that make repeated appearances in the Art Appreciation Moment of the Day, one of them being Mr. Gene Gonzales. Today we take a look at his take of the Good Ol’ Days of the Dibny’s.
I started this piece two years ago. And the last time I worked on it was two years ago, yesterday. This is vintage on vintage. It was a piece I always wanted to finish but had a hard time visualizing the final image. I’m glad I waited until I was ready.
Head over to Gene’s site and check out the version from two years ago. I’m glad Gene waited to complete this piece, too. I like the final version, and if you aren’t following his daily blog, you really should; there are a ton of great images that pop up there.

I really like this. Great work by Gonzales. This just brings back to me how much I hate Identity Crisis, however, for making this comic book couple into a tragedy.
I found this piece a week ago, and still love it with all my heart. There’s a reason these two are my favorite comic characters; I hate Identity Crisis so so much for so many many reasons. Please Gonzales, make more artwork like this.
