Hobby market to receive exclusive Machi Koro game card

Press ReleaseBy Press ReleaseApril 28, 20144 Mins Read

    Press Release

Today, IDW Games announced a pre-order exclusive bonus card for the hotly anticipated Machi Koro card game set for release this July. The card will be exclusive to hobby and gaming stores and will only be inserted in pre-ordered, first-edition copies of the game. While Machi Koro isn’t due out until July, retailers hoping to participate in this unique offer will have to get their pre-orders in by May 28, 2014 to guarantee they receive this exclusive card.

promocard_english“The board game market’s abuzz about Machi Koro, and a lot of that has been due to the enthusiasm created in all the ‘friendly local game stores,’” said IDW Director of Business Development, Jerry Bennington. “This exclusive landmark card is our way of thanking the shops that have created and educated these fans of well-designed, lighthearted strategy games like Machi Koro.”

Each pre-ordered copy of Machi Koro will include five copies of the exclusive “Gaming Mega Store” landmark card, meaning this uniquely designed, all-new card will be compatible with both Machi Koro and Machi Koro Plus, the planned October 2014 expansion. Originally designed and released in Japan, Machi Koro has developed a cult-favorite status around the world. Excited fans have been eagerly anticipating an English translation, and the game has already garnered a “seal of excellence” from The Dice Tower.

“We here at Pandasaurus know exactly how crucial local gaming stores are to the tabletop community!” said Pandasaurus V.P. of Marketing, Molly Wardlaw. “Thus, we are overjoyed to be able to offer such an exciting exclusive (for such an exciting game!) to say ‘Thank you for what you do.’”

Armed only with your trusty die and a dream, you must grow Machi Koro into the largest city in the region. You will need to collect income from developments and build public works, as well as steal from your neighbors’ coffers, just make sure they aren’t doing the same to you! Machi Koro is a fast-paced lighthearted game for you and up to 3 friends. They say you can’t build Rome in a day, but Machi Koro will be built in under 30 minutes!
