“Oh, No!” or “Oh, Yay!” Damian gets his own animated movie

Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherJanuary 20, 20147 Comments1 Min Read

Love him or hate him, Damian Wayne is getting his own animated movie from Warner Bros. Animation.  Son of the Batman is based on the Grant Morrison story from 2006. We’ve got the trailer, and the voice cast, after the jump.

The voice cast features Jason O’Mara as Batman/Bruce Wayne; Stuart Allan as Damian; Morena Baccarin as Talia, Damian’s mother; Giancarlo Esposito as Ra’s Al Ghul, leader of the League of Assassins and one of Batman’s most notorious enemies; David McCallum as butler Alfred Pennyworth; Xander Berkeley as Kirk Langstrom (aka Man-Bat); and Thomas Gibson plays the master assassin Deathstroke.

If O’Mara’s name sounds familiar, this is the second time playing Batman. The actor also plays Batman in Justice League: War, that arrives February 04, 2014.

You can look for Son of Batman in the Spring, with the premiere taking place at WonderCon in Anaheim, California.

I’d add “Very Loosely” to that description.

They are never quite the same as the Comic, are they… But, you know… I like it… I’m looking forward to it. The more you can visit and explore the world of the comics via the animated medium, the more that may be brought to the comic world. That equals a win- win situation for me.

No, No, no. A million time no. With so many great and unused characters in the DC universe they opt to make a movie about the most pretentious and redundant character in the bat family. DC Comics were you dreams go to die!

You might not like Damian but the Al Ghul dynasty have always had a soft spot for you.

If it shows up at Wal-Mart, I’ll probably buy it.

Other than Batman/Superman Public Enemies, I’ve enjoyed the animated films DC has been putting out so far. I had a soft spot for Damian too. I’m looking forward to this.
