Catching Fire, the highly anticipated sequel to The Hunger Games, is set to release in the coming months in what is sure to be one of the highest earning movies of the last quarter of 2013. Jennifer Lawrence plays the title role of Katniss in the series and she is featured in the latest still to be released.
THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.
After seeing the trailer for Catching Fire that debuted at San Diego Comic Con last month I can’t wait to watch this film. Looks to be intriguing on a completely different level than the first in the trilogy.
Catching Fire releases into theaters November 22.
