Continuing with Nintendo’s astounding E3 announcements we get a trailer for Super Mario 3D World. It’s after the jump, just go look, you’ll be happy.

You’re happy now, aren’t you. Taking what looks to be a combination of New Super Mario Bros and Super Mario Galaxy we’re getting what looks like a fun new 3D platformer with Mario and friends. Since it’s being made by the team that did both of the Galaxy games, that mix should work well. New power ups, up to four-player co-op, and Princess Peach playable again should make tons of fans happy, I know I am. And it looks like we have a tentative release date in December, so go awesome Christmas (or holiday of your choice) gift.

Im of two minds on this game. They are finally putting in some 3d Mario, which up to this point at least has always been a great thing. The multiplayer aspect I could care less about. Still this I may have to pick up as well.
This doesn’t really have much of Super Mario Galaxy in it — it’s much more similar to Super Mario 3D Land for the 3DS, which the Super Mario Galaxy team also worked on.
Haven´t I played this on my N64 back then?
Haven’t most of the 3D Mario games been of a similar vein? Why break a formula that works so well?
