    SOLICITATIONS: Titan Comics announces Tomorrowland

Press ReleaseBy Press ReleaseApril 3, 20134 Mins Read

    Press Release

Following the recent announcement that Tomorrowland, is set to expand for the first time outside of Belgium to Chattahoochee Hills, GA, USA on 27, 28, 29 September 2013, Titan Comics and Atomeka are pleased to announce the launch of the brand-new series Tomorrowland – a four-part comic book adventure by Paul Jenkins and Stellar Labs.

Tomorrowland is one of the largest and most popular electronic dance music festivals in the world. The annual festival, which takes place at the end of July in Belgium, has already sold out all 180,000 tickets in under one second. In 2013 Tomorrowland will welcome attendees from 214 countries from around the world, making it the most international gathering on the planet! Surrounded by jaw dropping, fairytale decoration, as well as the colossal Tomorrowland Main Stage, the festival offers an unprecedented variety of sub-genres within the electronic music scene.  Since 2005, the festival has been held every summer in Boom, Belgium and has hosted performances from international DJs, including Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, Skrillex, Fatboy Slim, Avicii, Carl Cox and the stars of the comic, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike.

The all-new TomorrowLand comics series, by Eisner Award-winning writer Paul Jenkins (Spider-Man, Darkness, Sentry, Inhumans, Wolverine: Origin, Batman) and illustrated by art team Stellar Labs (Hulk, Superman, Power Girl, Cyber-Force, Heavy Metal) follows DJs Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, two young stars who have become the public face of the Tomorrowland festival as they are drawn into an impossible adventure to save the vital spark of creativity from the forces that would destroy it! Dimitri and Mike, two Belgian brothers, have been closely associated to the festival for the past few years and were the obvious choice to lead the way in this new Tomorrowland adventure.

There are two worlds – the world we see, and the one we sense. The world we see is a harsh place: divided by wars and political extremism, religious fundamentalism and avarice. The world we sense hides in plain sight: you can see it in your peripheral vision, moving, vibrant. It’s a world of feeling, where art, music and science intertwine, where the written word is a powerful tool of creation.

In these two worlds, we each carry two avatars – one embodying destruction, one connected to creation. This is the way of the universe. But creation and destruction wage an eternal war for the energy we carry inside us. It’s a war that we are rapidly losing…

Whether you’re an attendee dug in deep at the Festival itself – where the events of the story will play out in the real world! – or a music-loving civilian kicking back listening to your favorite tracks at home, the Tomorrowland comic is a breathless explosion of color, adventure, and the importance of unbridled creativity in a world growing stale!

“This is a chance to integrate a storyline into the festival itself,” says writer Paul Jenkins. “Those attending the show will see the comic elements appear around them and on stage scenes. The world of the graphic novel will come alive!”

“Paul Jenkins is one of our heroes,” say DJs Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike. “We loved working with him on this story and the way he brought this to the next level. We just created a new universe that we’re going to expand exponentially in the next few years!”
