FCBD’13: ComixTribe announces Free Comic Book Day title

Press ReleaseBy Press ReleaseDecember 14, 2012Updated:December 14, 20123 Mins Read

    Press Release

In a press release yesterday, Diamond Comics Distributors announced the 2013 Silver Sponsors for Free Comic Book Day. Counted among them and making its Free Comic Book Day debut is ComixTribe, who has revealed THE RED TEN #0 as its offering, to be distributed for free Saturday May 4, 2013 at thousands of participating retailers.

“ComixTribe couldn’t be happier to be a 2013 FCBD sponsor,” said publisher Tyler James.  “It’s a tremendous opportunity for a young imprint like ours to get our books into reader’s hands, thanks to the remarkable generosity of hardworking retailers.”

THE RED TEN is a ten-issue superhero re-telling of Agatha Christie’s classic whodunit “And Then There Were None,” written by James and drawn by Cesar Feliciano, featuring covers by CP Wilson, III (Stuff of Legend.)  After a well-received micro-distribution release of the first two issues, ComixTribe made a deal with Diamond to distribute the series bi-monthly.  THE RED TEN #1 will be out later this month, and THE RED TEN #2 is in this month’s previews, shipping in February.

“THE RED TEN #0 will delve a bit deeper into the ten heroes featured in the series, giving readers a chance to get to know them a little better…before they meet horrible, horrible ends,” said James.  “The story will also give more face-time to everyone’s favorite contradiction-obsessed psychopath, the OXYMORON.”  The book features a cover by rising star artist Joe Mulvey (SCAM), and an Oxymoron back-up story by the critically acclaimed team of Paul Allor and Aaron Houston (Clockwork.)

More details about the book will be forth coming, including information about the large collection of talent contributing to the issue, and a special ComixTribe contest embedded in the book.

“We hope participating in FCBD will give retailers an additional incentive to stock THE RED TEN series and all ComixTribe books, and give readers another opportunity to see what ComixTribe is all about.”
