Zach WoolfBy Zach WoolfDecember 3, 20124 Comments1 Min Read

Trekkies rejoice! It is time for the media to start building up over J.J. Abrams Star Trek sequel Into Darkness and to kick it all off is a new poster! Take the jump for the full image.

In case you are needing a refresher on the synopsis of Into Darkness here it is:

In Summer 2013, pioneering director J.J. Abrams will deliver an explosive action thriller that takes “Star Trek Into Darkness.”

When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.

With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.

As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

Stark Trek Into Darkness kicks off the summer movie season May 17, 2013.

This makes me feel like Trek is being made into something it’s not. Make good Trek that inspires us to create a great future. Trek didn’t become a cash cow by being Batman.

so true.it looks like DC comics got a hold of it and said
“Let’s make it dark and gritty, like everything in the DC universe”

All i can say is i hope they keep it “episodic” like the old movies, with no specific storyline throughout the movies. I watch Star Trek for a complete storyline in 1 session, not really over a few episodes (or in this case possibly movies)
