RUMOR: Jamie Foxx in talks for Spider-Man 2 villain

    Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherNovember 2, 2012Updated:November 2, 20124 Comments2 Mins Read

Since the final scene in The Amazing Spider-Man, fans around the world have been wondering and speculating who would be the big bad in the next Amazing Spider-Man movie.  According to a story that floated to the surface at Variety, Jamie Foxx is in talks to play a villain.

According to the troubled trade, Foxx is in early talks with Sony/Columbia Pictures to play the main villain in the movie, and to help shore up their story, apparently Foxx tweeted that he dressed up as Electro for Halloween.

Electro is the alter ego of Max Dillon, an enemy of Spider-Man who gains the ability to control electricity after being struck by lightning. Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, the character first appeared in “The Amazing Spider-Man #9” in February 1964.

So, Jamie Foxx dressed up as Electro for Halloween.  If that is the big proof that Variety has, I have it good authority that Patton Oswalt dressed up as Doc Ock for Halloween, and is therefore in talks with H’wood to play the big bad in the Amazing Spider-Man 3.

This is one of those “early talk/negotiation” stories that appear each and every time new movies spring up, so take all of this news with a grain of salt.

I think it would be cool if he did play Electro. The character is kinda like The Shocker. Kinda a joke. I know he helped release all the people from The Raft, but over all he is kinda blah. Mr Foxx does do pretty good work. Would be epic if he was Electro. Not holding my breath though.
