Dynamite Entertainment has announced that the final Battlefields series by Garth Ennis is arriving in November, right around the same time the final issues of The Boys hits stores.
In Battlefields #1: The Green Fields Beyond Part 1, on the killing fields of Korea, the Tankies find themselves back up the sharp end, as veteran Sergeant Stiles is finally given a tank that can take on any opposition. Unfortunately, the Chinese spring offensive of 1951 is on its way- leaving our heroes cut off, on their own and outnumbered ten to one. It’s British steel against massed Communist hordes, as the last Battlefields series begins with a bang.
In a prepared statement, writer Garth Ennis said, “I have been wanting to write this one for a long, long time, the return of Sergeant Stiles and the Tankies in the third and final run of Battlefields. This is my favorite series, my favorite subject to write about and I couldn’t be happier. And working with Carlos Ezquerra again is the icing on the cake!”
