Wonderland #1 best selling Zenescope title ever

Press ReleaseBy Press ReleaseAugust 9, 20123 Mins Read

    Press Release

Zenescope Entertainment, the company known most for its take on horror and supernatural thrillers, has announced that the #1 issue of its new Wonderland ongoing series has become the best-selling comic in the company’s seven year history.

The original Wonderland trilogy (Return to Wonderland, Beyond Wonderland, Escape From Wonderland) had been Zenescope’s most popular series to date. Now the Wonderland ongoing series continues that tradition with record sales that have surpassed expectations. The ongoing series picks up years after protagonist Calie Liddle escaped the horrors of the realm of madness called Wonderland.  Calie’s been living in obscurity with her now teenage daughter, Violet, as they try to hide from their past.  But they know deep down that Wonderland never lets one go and Calie realizes that soon she will need to fight back again.

“Wonderland #1 was our best-selling comic ever and it’s a testament to the creative teams behind the entire Wonderland series since it began in ’07.” said Zenescope’s Editor-in-Chief, Ralph Tedesco “Our fans have supported this series for over five years now and we’re so appreciative of their support.”

This news comes just after Zenescope Entertainment announced that Lionsgate Studios picked up the rights to Zenescope’s Wonderland to produce for Television.  Brian Robbins (Smallville) will serve as an executive producer on the project while Zenescope’s Joe Brusha and Ralph Tedesco will co-executive produce.

Not only is Wonderland selling at a rapid pace in stores but Wonderland #1 is also seeing significant success through digital download.  The issue is one of the company’s fastest-selling digital releases through digital distributor ComiXology and was one of Comixology’s top-selling digital comics for the month of July.

Meanwhile, Zenescope Entertainment continues to grow its Wonderland product line by recently releasing its first ever action figures with CS Moore Studios as well as a Wonderland board game through board game developer 5th Planet Games.

Wonderland #1 is currently available digitally through ComiXology and can also be ordered directly on Zenescope’s website. Go to www.zenescope.com and Facebook page www.facebook.com/Zenescope for more information.
